Win an Anaheim Staycation-3

Attending a sporting event or concert at one of our nearby stadiums is fun and exciting, but it can also be rather expensive after you add up all of the food purchases and souvenirs. Eating at a nearby restaurant is often times cheaper and can leave you fuller and more satisfied than eating at the event. Here is a list of 5 nearby restaurants to get your grub on before or after an event:

  1. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

This pet-friendly restaurant has the cutest theme you will ever see. Pictures of adorable dogs in all shapes and sizes hang from the wall and the interior is that of a warm lodge you might find in a ski destination. The food is consistently delicious and they have the neatest back story that you should watch on their website. You can order everything from burgers to ribs, to salads, to sandwiches. On a recent visit there I enjoy a perfectly cooked sirloin steak with creamy mashed potatoes and a side of veggies. aAlso recommended are their sticky ribs, the hummus trio appetizer, the poke nachos, and their cinnamon sugar pizza for dessert.

   3. Who Song and Larry’s

The Who Song & Larry’s menu consists of  international comfort food, predominately with a Latin flavor by Executive Chef Johannes Bernau and his team. He has created an eclectic mix of favorite flavors from his Japanese, Dutch and Indonesian background. Bottom line, his menu includes everything from quintessential SoCal Mexican favorites to fresh seafood, specialty salads, shareable starters and a unique Cal-Mex sushi menu. His bold, signature dishes include the Lobster Mac & Cheese Enchiladas and the Muay Thai Chicken Salad.

    4.  Pokinometry

Just a bit up the road from both venues is Pokinomentry, an awesome assembly line type of restaurant. It’s the new fast food style restuarant, which changes fast food completely with the idea that it’s “FRESH.” Fresh indeed it is. The concept of creating your own poke just how you’d like it is amazing. You have the option for small, medium, or large bowl. But be prepared to know what you are going to order. The line moves fast!

    5. Calivino Wine Pub

This little gem is right next to the Angel Stadium in the same lot as Hooters. It is on the small side, but don’t let that fool you! This place packs a big punch in terms of flavorful food. Their tables are custom made from reclaimed wood too,  which is sourced from demolition jobs around Southern California. They specialize in fine wine, craft beer, and brilliant New American food. Try the brussels sprouts with pork belly and honey mustard. You won’t be disappointed!
