Nestled in it’s brand new location on Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo, CAVA , a growing Mediterranean restaurant is quickly taking the city by storm! This flavorful and healthy fast-
The concept is easy! You start at the beginning of the line and pick your base. Either salad, a grain bowl, salad + grains together, or pita. Then you choose your dips: Eggplant/Red Pepper dip, hummus, Tzatziki, Harissa, crazy feta or roasted red pepper hummus. Finally, you choose your protein: Falafel, ground chicken, spicy lamb meatballs, grilled meatballs, braised beef, braised lamb or roasted seasonal vegetables. Finish all that goodness off with some yummy toppings: shredded romaine, tomato/onion salad, pickled onions, kalamata olives, cabbage slaw, tabbouleh, tomato cucumber salad, diced cucumber, pita crisps, lemon wedge, mint, crumbled feta, pickled banana peppers, or a white bean salad.
Cava also has thirst quenching beverages that pair well with your CAVA meal. Their seasonal house-made sips are all-natural fountain sodas, or curated bottled beverages. The juices and teas reflect the flavors of the season and are made fresh in-house each day. I loved how the lemonades were not overly sugary or sour.
The strawberry citrus was my favorite as it was just enough sweet and used cane sugar. The watermelon mint is a close second.
One of the best things about Cava is that they give back to the community. They team up with fantastic nonprofit organizations to help the local community push crucial healthy eating and urban gardening skills. For instance, Cava works with The Garden School Foundation” that educates underserved youth across Los Angeles. The foundation implements garden-based learning though its Seed to Table program. These outdoor living classrooms are designed to strengthen the connection between education, health, environmental awareness and thriving communities. How awesome is that?
If you love good food, good community, and a good price then head over to your local Cava for a cool culinary experience!
