Refreshed Menu at Pei Wei Asian Diner

Now that baseball season has started for my boys I find us eating on the run more often than not. Since we dine out so often I prefer places that are counter service so that we can get in and out quickly but there are not a lot of places to choose from with a healthy menu. Fortunately  I received some complimentary gift cards to one of my favorite restaurants.  Pei Wei is one of those places on my list that we frequent a lot because my kids eat a variety of things on their menu and they have healthier options. Recently Pei Wei refreshed their menu and we had an opportunity to check out some of their new dishes.

Pei Wei Entrees

A staple for one of my kids is their Honey seared Chicken. I recently learned that you can ask for it to be steamed! That is so much healthier and it eliminates the breading.

I prefer to start off my meal with the Thai Wonton Soup.It has chicken wontons, spinach, scallions, Thai basil, and Lemon grass. It really warms me up on a cool night.

One of the new menu items in Pei Wei’s restaurant refresh is the Ginger Orange Edamame. Steamed soybeans, orange peel, ginger, garlic, sea salt all mixed together give regular edamame a real kick. They were so good I wanted to lick my fingers when no one was looking.

I can’t forget my beloved Crab and Cream Cheese wontons. These things are impossible to stay away from. I didn’t even share any of these with my kids. Nope. Ate them all myself.

Szechuan Green Beans are also part of the new refresh menu. The green little  gems have a nice amount of fire to them. The Hunan sauce and chili paste give it a nice kick.

For my main meal I tried a new entrée called Thai Lime and Chili Chicken. It was very aromatic and tasted really good. There were so many flavors to it. Thai lime pineapple chile sauce, garlic, red onion, snap peas, Fresno chile peppers, cashews, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers and cilantro. Wow! It was definitely on the spicier side than I am used to but I actually enjoyed it very much. Even my picky eater had a bite and liked it.

Another entree not listed here is the Wok Roasted Vegetable Salad. Tat dish is also on the new refreshed menu. I am very pleased with the new offerings and I like that they still have a large selection of ways to have your food prepared. It’s not just about the wok anymore. They also have an awesome gluten free menu. Click here to see.

We can’t wait to come back!
